This year has really been a tough one, particularly for those of us living in Nigeria. Oil prices have fallen and the economy has taken a downturn. The Naira has crashed steeply in the Foreign Exchange market, this has made the price of most commodities to go up as we are largely an import dependent economy. Indeed times are hard but we have all survived the first half of the year. In fact, despite the harsh state of things, there are those who still thrive.
I will like to share a few tips on how we can survive this hard period:
i. Prune our spending and ensure we get value for money for whatever we purchase.
ii. Pay extra attention to our savings, no matter how small our income is we must save. As said in the book The Richest Man in Babylon “a part of what you earn is yours to Keep”.
iii. Look out for ways to earn more income.
iv. Read and learn more about Finance and investments
v. Seek expert opinion on our investments and investment opportunity.
vi. Draw closer to God, pay our tithes and give to the needy in our society.
vii. Avoid greed, lest we become gullible and fall prey to swindlers
